Fall is Here

Fall is now here! I'm so excited for the autumnal season. Where I live, it doesn't get as cold as soon for more "stereotypical" fall, but I cannot wait for the weather to get colder. I am looking forward to hot tea/coffee while reading books as I'm cozied up under a blanket. I also look forward to watching the leaves fall after changing beautiful colors. Something about the beautiful, delicate spiral to the ground of the warm tinted leaves gives me the feeling that anything is possible and that the future is going to be okay. It cements that feeling of coziness. Even in death, beauty can be found.

Another wonderful thing about fall is that October is coming! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and I can't wait for the spookiness of the season! Do any of you celebrate Halloween? If so, what are you going to dress up as? I'm not sure if I'm going to dress up yet, but I'm going to try!

There are also some books coming out this Fall that are highly anticipated. Jonathan Van Ness has already come out with his book Over the Top: A Raw Journey to Self Love. It came out September 24, 2019. This book is about Van Ness's life especially about him growing up as a gay man in the midwest. He is such an empowering, wonderful person and this book highlights what he went through to get where he is now. It is a story of personal power and self love. I am so looking forward to reading it! Here is a list that was put together by Time Magazine that details other good books coming out this Fall: LINK

***Note: not all books that I will post do I necessarily suggest everyone to read. Some of them I will not be fully aware of the content until I finish reading them.***

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green Review

The Fault in Our Stars (or TFIOS) by John Green is a novel concerning a young cancer patient and her attempt to outrun death by living a life full of love. The story is beautifully written. I had put off reading it due to the teenage hype surrounding it; I thought it would be just another story of a childhood romance that was cheesy and unauthentic.

I ended up giving in, though, after my curiosity got the better of me. It was a late night and it ended with me watching the movie for The Fault in Our Stars. After the movie was finished, I immediately knew I had to read the book because we all know that the book is better than the movie. At least, that's the old adage. The book was a life changing experience. It proved to me that love was so much more than sappy people getting together out of sheer desperation. It showed that love was akin to art. Much like art, love is different for everyone and it can be interpreted a thousand ways. Love may end bht it's impact goes on.
